This story written by Karen Matambo, a Compassion Boston Bible Worker.
I met Cal a couple of months ago. We studied together for some time, then two church members from Berea and Bethel continued studying with him. As Bible workers, it’s very important to us that we match our Bible study contacts with those who will love and care for them as much as we do. Cal loved the Bible studies and these church members loved him also. I knew Cal was in good hands.
One week, I had the privilege of joining Cal for one more Bible study. I couldn’t wait to see my friends. Apparently Cal couldn’t wait to see us either because he came and waited for us at the bottom of his building.
During the study, Cal answered questions with surety and trust in what God said. He read each verse and flipped through the Bible with a confidence I hadn’t seen before. Even decisions came easily for him because he loved Jesus. He was so eager to surrender to Christ that he read the appeal out of the Bible study guide himself! It warmed my heart to see Cal growing in a healthy relationship with the Lord.
The church members were also very happy to be with Cal and were meeting other people in Cal’s building who wanted to study. Jesus told us to pray the Lord of the harvest to send more laborers. It’s clear that God has prepared a great harvest here in Boston, and He wants to use as many as are willing in our churches to bring in those He has called. Oh the joys that await us in His vineyard! Will you partner with Jesus today?
