December 2016 – January 2017

Join us in collecting warm clothing items for the nearby homeless and cold throughout the greater Boston area in Compassion Boston’s third annual Winter Warmth Campaign.

Campaign Phases

1. Collecting

December to early-January

Each church collects hats, scarves, mittens/gloves, socks, and blankets. Ask your Pastor or Compassion Boston Coordinator where your collection box is and exactly how long you have to collect items.

Early- to mid-January

Once finished collecting, each church packages the items into Compassion Boston bags. Ask your Pastor or Compassion Boston Coordinator how you can help with packaging.

Mid- to late-January

Each local church gets to decide where they want to donate their collected, packaged items. Ask your Pastor or Compassion Boston Coordinator when, where, and how these will be given away.

This year, the three churches that donate the most items (relative to membership) will get money toward their local church Community Service or Compassion Boston budget.

  • $500 — 1st place

  • $300 — 2nd place

  • $200 — 3rd place

Note: Churches are welcome to collect other additional items, but only hats, scarves, gloves/mittens, socks, and blankets are eligible to be counted as items toward these rewards. (For instance, you can’t collect 100 pens and count those toward your total number of items to get the reward.)
